Worthington Curtis Smith

Worthington Curtis Smith (April 23, 1823 - January 2, 1894) was a U.S. Representative from Vermont, son of John Smith, of Vermont.

Born in St. Albans, Franklin County, Vermont, Smith pursued classical studies, and was graduated from the University of Vermont at Burlington in 1843. He studied law, but did not practice. He engaged in the iron trade. During the Civil War assisted in raising the First Regiment, Vermont Volunteer Infantry. He served as member of the State house of representatives in 1863. He served in the State senate in 1864 and 1865, and was elected president pro tempore of that body in 1865.

Smith was elected as a Republican to the Fortieth, Forty-first, and Forty-second Congresses (March 4, 1867-March 3, 1873). He served as president of St. Albans Foundry Co. He died in St. Albans, Vermont, January 2, 1894. He was interred in Greenwood Cemetery.
